2013 End Of Year Reflection

Mad Scientest Day

On Friday we had a Mad Scientist day my experiment was gravity free water this is how you do it:

Materials:

•  A cup filled right to the top with a little space at the top
• A piece of cardboard

Steps:

1. Put your cardboard on the frame of your glass.
2. Carfley over a basin holding the cardboard turn the glass over a bit of water may escape but it doesn't matter
3. Slowly let go of the cardboard and it will stick.

Tips:

• Remember to do it over a basin
• Make sure you ask a parent
• HAVE FUN!!!!

 

The Lost Letter

tHE LOST LETTER

The story of the lost letter i know it sounds funny but it’s true somewhere out in the big blue ocean  the special letter a letter in a bottle is out there . I will go out into the open in search for the lost letter my chances of finding it are endless so i will never give up never.

Day 1

Out in the open is so cool but i haven’t found the bottle .

A week later

Still searching, searching .....

A month later

As i get older and older my hope is running out

The Ooblick Experiment

 

On Monday the 18 of November
Room 15 made ooblick it was AMAZING we rolled it into a ball and let go and it would melt when you put pressure on it the ooblick will stay solid until you let go.This is a picture of me playing with ooblick.

Hiwi the Kiwi

On Wednesday Hiwi the Kiwi  did a show at Vardon school  he talked about how when you go fishing you need to bring a ruler to mesure your fish if it's to small or to BIG if it is to small you have to throw  it back with a wet towel so no scales come off and let it grow so you can catch it when it's bigger. If it's to big throw it back because it might have babies. Heaps of people now how to fish but once you look into it you'll know even better this is a picture of Hiwi the Kiwi:

My Mystery story

The old royal castle ...

As rose ran out the door she screamed “ i hate you mum” she just ended a argument. Rose took a walk in the forest to cool down she slipped down a hill and bumped into a brick castle. Rose slowly steped back and saw in big bold letters THE OLD ROYAL CASTLE

She goes total blank and gets a vision of her mother holding her by a window in that castle. She ran home and told her mum the weird story the next morning she got so furious her mum grounded her and she wasn’t aloud to eat dinner. That night she did some research about the relatives of the King Joshua .Black and the Queen Maria .Black and found a familiar name Rosy .black so now Rose new she was the daughter of the King and Queen and then she realised her mother was a fake

Speech Final Night

 I was 3rd saying my speech for seniors it was nerve wrecking I didn't come a placing but it was all worth it. This a picture of me during my speech.

 

Room 15's Assembly

On friday it was our Assembly I was a host  it was so nerve wrecking but after awhile it gets really fun.

Ripper Rugby

Ripper Rugby
At Vardon all the seniors get practices with a ripper rugby coach to teach all the senior students some ripper rugby skills. They come in every Monday this is a pic of our first training lesson.

Yesterday I said my speech infront of my class and I think I did pretty good. Telling by my score I did because I acheived my goal (my goal was to get over half) my score was 85/100.This is a picture of me saying my speech.

Culture Presention

On friday we had a Cultral presentation from what we have been researching about for the past weeks.
In my group we had four people Sarah.R, Manaia, Taiba and me of course. Our groups topic was Ramadan we made a  poster this is a picture of it hope you like it.   :)

Cross-Country

What I enjoyed most was running the distance and achieving my goal(My goal was to try my hardest).
At the start of the race I was really anxious about all the mud but I still had FUN.
Who ever reads this post I just want to congratulate you for completing the Cross-Country track :)

Cross Country Training Goal

Cross Country Training is going AWESOME.

For Cross Country I set a goal to run 75 km for the whole of Training.
I have been running 8 laps minimum and 10 maximum.
I feel I have been working well for this goal.
I can't wait for Cross Country.

The mystery of the land of mysteries

The rusty old gate once had a giant mystery holding people back and all they could see was a big dark green creek in front of a haunted house. People say that at night the rusty old gate comes to life and cast spells on animals and turn them into rusty old gates because he once was a animal. And one night there was two little boys playing catch and they lived across from the rusty old gate and their ball flew at the door step of the haunted house and they went to get it and they never returned.   

Trashion show

In the Trashion Show last Thursday I was a performer doing gymnastics. All those people made me so NERVOUS the butterflys In my tummy had babies. But when I saw my groups garment I wasn't scared and I was happy to represent my group as performer.It was TRASHtastic. I really enjoyed doing cartwheels down the catwalk because I could see my family taking pictures of me and cheering me on.These are our models Rory and Jared.

Waste to WOW

Museum Trip

This is called copper it's the material used for Queen Adelaide's garment.
On her garment it has flowers  BIG and  LITTLE.
My favorite part of the museum was seeing all of the costumes. They all have a unique thing about them with an inspirational story to tell.

Caving

Caving

Caving looks pitch black with only your headlight.

 It looks slippery and brown all around like the inside of a tree.

Caving sounds like voices echoing off the walls

and people stomping in gooey mud.

Caving smells like a fresh cool breeze of summer

Caving feels like sweaty helmet on your head

and mud sinking into your shoes.

Caving tastes like excitement and awesomeness.

I can't wait to go caving again.
